Although currently only wheat straw is pelleted for animal bedding, we plan to pellet soybean residue - the advantage being it should be more absorbent, plus animals would be less prone to eating soybean "straw" pellets. Another promising need for our pellets seems to be for use as fuel. This could provide a large market. The convenience of pellets against baled straw makes them attractive to anyone handling or transporting them. Besides the above uses for pellets they have also been used in animal feed rations requiring a high-fibre, low protein ingredient.
